ADV Films: 1992-2009

Hello and greetings fellow Otaku,

I am very sad to say another dynasty in the anime world has come to an end. For those of you who do not know already, A.D. Vision parent company of Adv Films has officially announced that they will be shutting down after transferring their entire catalog to several companies. The companies who will be taking over are AEsir Holdings, SIXON 23,LLC, Valkyrie Media Partners and Seraphim Studios, LLC. These companies will assume control of ADV’s license agreements and also it’s former television unit Anime Network among other things as part of the transactions that were conducted. ADV completed the transactions back on June 1,2009.

My View

Like many of you folks out there in the anime community, I am upset that this once great company has to close down. ADV had a great line up of series such as Bubblegum Crisis Tokyo 2040, Macross, Robotech, Neon Genesis Evangelion among other great series which all of us watched at one time or another. I am very sad that a company with such a strong and diverse library of titles would close it’s doors forever. Overall, I have to say that ADV was a great company and I wish all the staff good luck with their futures and this great company live on forever in our culture.

As always we will keep you posted on new developments in this story as we find out. So until next time. Remember that their is a ton of great anime and manga out there, all you have to do is find it. Ltrs.
