Manga Review: Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney Official Casebook Vol. 1- The Phoenix Wright Files

November 27, 2008

phoenixwrightmanga

Hello and greetings fellow Otaku from around the world,

I finally had some time to read some manga so now it is time to do my first ever manga review. For my first review, I am going to be reviewing Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney Official Case Book Vol. One. For those of you who haven’t read it yet, I will try to keep this spoiler free as possible. This manga is based off the Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney video games for the Nintendo DS. However the manga is a little different than the games, the manga goes a little more in depth inside your favorite characters such as Phoenix Wight and Maya Fey. The manga also brings some new story lines that are not featured in the games themselves and it also features comments from the authors who adapted the manga about their thoughts on the project.

Overall, from a score of one to five with five being excellent I give this a manga a 4 out of 5. I would have liked to seen more background information about Phoenix’s past and the other characters but I believe that they will come out in future volumes of this series. I totally recommend this manga for those of you are fans of the games and for those of you who are not familiar with the games like myself, this is a great primer to get you started.

I hope you enjoyed this review and please feel free to comment or email me your opinions. Anyway have a great thanksgiving everyone and I will catch you guys later.

I also plan on working on the guidelines for submissions and also for posting comments to the blog and as always I will have a new anime remix for the long holiday weekend. Hello fellow Otaku,

Unfortunately I did not find any good anime news this week, however I have a great video for anime remix to share with you. This week we take a look at an anime series that covers Otaku culture. I am talking about the series known as Genshiken. The following video features the main characters Makoto Kousaka and Saki Kasukabe. For those of you who haven’t seen the series, I won’t tell you how they know each other. But being an Otaku can have a strain on ones relationship. Have a great week everybody and I will catch ya later.

The Week In Anime

November 8, 2008

anime_dvds

Greetings fellow otaku,

I know this is not anime remix, but I think it is time for a little change of pace. I am proud to introduce another new segment to this blog entitled the week in anime (Insert news bumper here). This segment will cover the top news story in anime over the past week. Last week, funimation sued a group of southern california anime retailers for selling illegal bootlegs of their series. Some of these series include Dragon Ball Z, Full Metal Alchemist and Fruits Basket. Funimation is suing these companies for over $23 million dollars in damages.

My Point Of View

I personally do not support the purchase or sale of bootleg anime dvd’s. The sale of these dvd’s are hurting the anime industry as a whole, which cause a rise in prices for those who buy anime legaly. I also do not support websites like crunchyroll.com or other sites who post illegal fansubs of unlicensed anime series. Overall, buying bootleg dvd’s or watching illegal fansubs is just wrong. However their are many sites that have anime that you can watch legally such as funimation’s channel on youtube and also hulu.com which have full episodes available for viewing. And that’s the week in anime, and remember that their is a ton of great anime and manga out there, you just got to know where to look. Catch ya later.

November 2, 2008

Hello fellow otaku,

We are going to do something a little different for anime remix this week. I found a very interesting video on youtube featuring a Japanese show in which unsuspecting people fall into trap holes filled with hot water. I guess you could say that this show almost like punked which aired on MTV a few years ago, but in Japanese. anyway, enjoy and well catch ya later.
