Hello and greetings fellow otaku,
I am very sad to say that we lost a very important figure who’s book inspired the popular Hayao Miyazaki animated feature Howl’s Moving Castle. It was announced yesterday that Diana Wynne Jones author of the book Howl’s Moving Castle passed away at the age of 76 with a long battle from cancer.
Mrs.. Jones has been well know for writing over 40 books for children and adults including the book mentioned above, Castle In The Air and House of Many Ways just to name a few. Her first original novel entitled Changeover was published back in 1970 and she published a children’s book entitled Wilkins’ Tooth in 1973. Mrs. Jones is survived by her husband and three children.
Overall I enjoyed the film version of the book and I have been trying to read the actual book itself, but I never had a chance to do so. But in closing, she will be defiantly be missed and that we wish her husband and her sons all the best during this difficult time.
So until next time, remember that there is a ton of great anime and manga out there. All you have to do is find it. Ltrs.
