Hello and greetings fellow otaku,
As most of you who are fans of Hayao Miyazaki and Studio Ghibli films know about every two to three years, Disney the company who owns the distribution rights to Ghibli and Miyazaki works releases the latest feature film to U.S. audiences. Well it has been a little over two years since Ponyo arrived here in the states in which means that we are due for another exciting animated feature to come across the land of the rising sun to us.
This years new feature film entitled “The Secret World of Arrietty” looks like to be a promising prospect for the U.S. box office. The film revolves around a young 14 year old girl named Arrietty and her family. The films premise is mostly based off the classic book series “The Borrowers” written by UK author Mary Norton. For those of you who have read the books, then you will probably be familiar with the plot of the film, but for those of you who never read the books, I would recommend that you watch the trailer above and read the books to get a general understanding of what the film is about.
The trailer posted is the second theatrical trailer that was recently released today on Regal Entertainment Group’s YouTube channel. It is also available on imdb.com and iTunes. Overall the trailer looks interesting and I can’t wait to see it when it comes to theatres on February 17,2012. So for those of you who want to see this, make sure to order your tickets early and read “The Borrowers” because you will be taken on a wild ride of adventure and mystery.
